The Fatima Sultan Hotel began as a littlegirl's dream...
The dream was simple, to make people happy.
That little girl and founder of the Fatima Sultan Hotel has grown up to become a world-traveling architect. The Fatima Sultan hotel, named after her beloved mother, is the fulfillment of her dream. Fatima Sultan was a very well educated and wealthy Dutch/Indonesian socialite who would host grand celebrations at her estates. A generous and hospitable woman, she inspired her daughter to help travelers find comfort and class during their adventures.
In Turkey they call hospitality: misafir, but it is a much more powerful word than that. Istanbul may seem confusing and intimidating when you step outside of the airport, but when your taxi driver offers you a glass of orange juice and chats with you as if you were his/her oldest friend, you begin to understand this word. Misafir is what attracted Fatima Sultan 's daughter to Turkey, and misafir is the brick she built the Fatima Sultan with. The instantaneous family-like embrace that you and yours will experience when you come into the Fatima Sultan is her gift to her mother and to you.
